The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between academic branch satisfaction and the desires for inclining teaching profession and career development of prospective teachers, and to determine whether the level of satisfaction and the desires for inclining teaching profession and career development show difference in terms of gender, department, grade level and type of education variables. The study group of the research con-sists of 3rd and 4th grade students studying in Sakarya University Faculty of Education (N=1123). The study data was obtained through academic branch satisfaction scale and the desires for inclining teaching profession and career development scale. The research results showed that the desires for teaching profession inclining and career development of the prospective teachers were lower than moderate level while their academic branch satisfaction was found to be moderate. According to the findings, academic branch satisfac-tion and the desires for teaching profession inclining and career development of prospective teachers showed differences in terms of gender and type of department. The findings also showed that there was a significant positive low relationship between the academic branch satisfaction and the desires for teaching profession inclining and career development scale and the ef-fort, persistence and desire subscales, while a significant negative low level relationship was found between the scale and the leadership subscale.
