Legal texts have a highly sensitive and complex structure. In this sense, it is of great importance to translate legal texts to the target language carefully while maintaining coherence and meaning. The translation of legal texts is a process that requires not only proficiency in language but also a broad knowledge and expertise in cultural and legal fields. The fact that Turkish and Arabic belong to different language families is a significant factor that complicates the translation process. The differences in the word and sentence structures of both languages can make it challenging for translators to effectively convey the expressions in the source language to the target language. Especially in legal translations, factors such as structural differences between these two languages, the unique terminology of legal texts, cultural differences, and differences in legal systems lead to dense the complexity of the translation process. Furthermore, while many Turkish legal terms have Arabic origins, which may facilitate the translation process from Turkish to Arabic to some extent, it also brings along some difficulties that translators need to be cautious about. Some of these terms have undergone certain changes over time, acquiring different meanings when translated into Turkish. This aspect is particularly important to consider in the translation of Turkish legal texts into Arabic. This study aims to shed light on some important points in this area by providing a general overview of the challenges translators may encounter during the process of translating Turkish legal texts into Arabic.
