Writing Rules

General Guidelines for Authors

The following rules apply to manuscripts prepared for publication in the ANABIDA Journal. For any issues not covered in this list, the general rules recommended by the American Psychological Association (APA 7) apply. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines will not be considered for review.

  • Manuscripts must be prepared using the journal’s template in Microsoft Office Word 2019 or later versions and should be between 6,000 and 12,000 words, including everything.
  • The language of the journal is English. The entire manuscript must be written in English.
  • All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and not under review elsewhere. Full-text papers presented at conferences are not accepted.
  • The abstract should not exceed 250 words. Below the abstract, 3 to 5 keywords must be listed in alphabetical order.
  • If the manuscript is derived from a thesis, presentation, or another scientific publication, this must be indicated in a footnote on the first page of the manuscript.
  • The manuscript must comply with publication ethics principles. An originality report generated by plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) must be uploaded to the system. Manuscripts with a similarity rate exceeding 25% will not be considered. The use of artificial intelligence in submitted manuscripts will also be reviewed. For more information on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in studies, please refer to the ethics guidelines page.

Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing

  • Authors are required to disclose the use of generative AI in the writing process when submitting their paper. This guidance applies strictly to the writing process and does not cover the use of AI tools for data analysis or deriving insights during the research.
  • Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies should be used solely to enhance the readability and clarity of the manuscript.
  • These technologies must be used under human supervision, with authors thoroughly reviewing and editing the output, as AI-generated content can sometimes appear credible while being inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Authors bear full responsibility for the final content of their work.
  • AI and AI-assisted technologies cannot be credited as an author or co-author, as authorship implies responsibilities that only humans can fulfill. Please read the generative AI policies of Elsevier

Authors must declare their use of generative AI in the writing process by including a statement at the end of the manuscript upon submission. This statement will be included in the published version and should be placed in a new section before the references. Here is an example:

Title of new section: Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process

Statement: In the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] to [PURPOSE]. The author(s) reviewed and edited the content generated by the tool/service as necessary and take full responsibility for the content of the published article.

Guidelines for Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be formatted to fit within the page margins without exceeding them.
  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and added after the reference page, with each table and figure placed on a separate page.
  • Titles of tables and figures should have only the first letter of the first word capitalized, except for proper nouns and abbreviations.
  • The sources of tables and figures should be cited in accordance with in-text citation rules and placed beneath the corresponding table or figure.
  • Each table or figure must be created by the authors and should not be directly copied from other sources.

Citation and Reference Style

ANABIDA adheres to the APA 7th edition style for referencing and citations. Below is a brief reference guide for general citation rules. For any issues not addressed in this list, please refer to the APA 7th edition guidelines.
