Bezgek Journal of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners uses the blind referee system. Blind refereeing is a method applied for the publication of scientific publications with high quality within ethical standards. This method forms the basis of the objective evaluation process of scientific studies and is preferred by many scientific journals.
Articles sent to Bezgek Journal are first reviewed by the editorial board and editors in terms of compliance with the journal's writing principles and sent to two referees who are deemed appropriate. Articles may be sent to more referees by the editor if deemed necessary.
According to the double-blind method, the identities of the authors and referees of the studies are hidden.
The editorial board decides on the publication of the articles.
Referee Process
The preliminary evaluation of the articles sent to the journal is carried out within 15 days. Authors know that if they do not complete the changes requested from them during the pre-control phase of the files they upload and upload them to the system within 15 days at the latest, their submitted works will be returned before proceeding to the editing phase.
Articles that are reviewed by the secretariat in terms of technical conditions and whose editing is completed are sent to the editorial board. The necessary information about the article is provided to the author within 15 days.
The editorial board, after reviewing the article in terms of its scientific quality within the framework of editorial responsibility, decides on its return, rejection or initiates the article processing process.
The double-blind referee process is initiated after the language editor's review. The article is directed to at least two referees through the field editors.
In determining the referees, the conflict of interest situation is taken into consideration and care is taken not to appoint referees from the same institution as the author or who have worked with the author in the past. In this context, the principle of diversity and impartiality is observed in the appointment of referees.
Referees who have academic studies related to the field literature and are expected to evaluate with a competent approach and comply with the referee responsibilities are appointed for the scientific review of the articles.
If both of the referee reports assigned in line with the blind referee system are positive, the article is prepared for publication. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the article is sent to a third referee. If the report of the third referee is positive, the article can be published with the approval of the editorial board. If the report of the third referee is negative, the article cannot be published.
When the referee reports are completed, the article is sent back to the author for correction. Authors must make edits and upload them to the system within 15 days. Articles that referees want to see again and / or decide on major corrections are sent back to the referee after the author edits them. After the referee reports and with the editor's approval, the article is sent for final reading. After the final reading process, the article, whose layout process is completed, moves on to the publication stage.
The final decision regarding the publication of articles belongs to the editor-in-chief. The author is informed with a decision letter containing the referee reports and the editor's evaluation.
