Lawal Muhammad Bello is an Associate Professor and researcher in a Telecommunications Research Group, Department of Electrical Engineering, Bayero University, Kano, and a Telecommunications consultant. He received his PhD from University of York, United Kingdom (UK) in January, 2016 (with the subject of his thesis being Intelligent RACH Access strategies for M2M Traffic over Cellular Networks) and MSc in Modern Digital & Radio Frequency Wireless Communications from University of Leeds, UK in 2009. He is an author of several Telecommunications engineering publications and his current research interests include;
 MAC layer design for uplink signaling channel of beyond next generation Cellular Networks.
 Supporting Machine-to-Machine Communications and Internet of Things (IoT) in the existing and future Cellular Networks.
 RACH access strategies of beyond 5G wireless network.
 Resource Management of Cellular Networks among others.
As a University lecturer, Bello has taught different courses, supervised various academic researches, and served as internal and external examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate related to telecommunications.
In addition, Bello has undergone through various telecommunications regulatory trainings with Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA).
As a telecommunications consultant, Bello served and worked with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in various capacities, especially the telecommunication
policy and regulatory aspect, telecommunications research and development, in an effort to bridge the gap between academia and telecommunications industries. He made various significant contributions;
• Developing and drafting of the guidelines on E-Waste for the Communications Industry.
• Developing and drafting of the guidelines on disaster recovery for the communications industry.
• Training of NCC staff on regulatory issues on internet governance policy and technical perspective.
• Resource Person to the ITU Study Group 20/5 Regional Group for Africa meeting at Transcorp Hilton Abuja August, 2019.
• Paper presented on The Role of Mast/Tower in Telecom Workshop Organized by Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) October, 2016
• Paper presented titled An Overview of Telecoms Service Delivery at the Zonal Staff Training Organized by Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) October, 2016
• Paper presented titled Telecommunications Operation in Nigeria: An Overview at the Retreat for House of Representative Committee on Telecommunications November, 2016

In the course of his career, Bello has participated in many committees and working groups within and outside the University, including: Broadband Implementation Steering Committee (BISC) member. This is a committee that is steering the implementation of National Broadband Plan 2020 – 2025. The committee improved Bello’s experience of Nigerian telecommunications practicing and regulation and also exposed him to the full functions of NCC and various telecommunications stakeholders and activities.

Yıldıray KURNAZ works as a full-time language instructor at Trabzon University, School of Foreign Languages, Turkey. He earned his master’s degree in Applied Linguistics at Karadeniz Technical University, Turkey. He is currently doing his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics at Erciyes University, Turkey. His research interests are EFL teaching, language teaching approaches, teaching methodology, teacher training, and technology in EFL teaching.
