Family is a universally accepted social institution because it is the most fundamental element and building block of society. It has existed in every period of history and in every society, albeit in different forms. Family, which is essential for the continuation and future of humanity, has not always remained the same throughout history and has changed in many ways. The institution of family, which has recently undergone a radical change with the industrial revolution, is experiencing another process of change-transformation in the period we live in, which is called information society, risk society, postmodern society, late-modern society, artificial intelligence society. In this context, trying to understand the change and transformation experienced by the family in the context of social change and transformation is one of the primary functions of social sciences. Due to the importance of the family, the Presidency declared 2025 as the “Year of the Family”. İçtimaiyat Magazine has also determined its 2025 Special Issue as “Family and Society”. The main themes of the magazine are within the framework of the titles stated below. However, the topics are not limited to the mentioned themes.
