1.Istanbul Education Journal (ISTJ), an open-access and peer-reviewed academic journal, publishes original, up-to-date, qualified research articles, review articles, meta-analyses, book reviews and monographs studied by teachers, principals, and researchers who carry out academic studies in the field of educational sciences. ISTJ aims to be an accredited publishing option that reviews, evaluates, and discusses published research with relevant national and international stakeholders and institutions.
2.ISTJ, which only accepts articles in Turkish or English languages, is published twice a year on the DergiPark platform on June 30 and December 30 and in hard copy by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.
3.Since a
maximum of 20 articles can be published in each issue, article applications are temporarily suspended when the number of articles submitted to the system to be evaluated for two issues reaches 60. Once the current issue is published and space is opened to review the articles to be sent, acceptance of new articles will start again. In
ISTJ, an article is reviewed and studied on by
the ISTJ Editor-in-Chief, the ISTJ Copy Editor, the ISTJ Editor-in-Chief again or
the authorized ISTJ Subject Editor, the ISTJ Statistical Editor, two referees, the ISTJ Language Editors, the ISTJ Editorial Board, the ISTJ Layout Editor, the ISTJ Assistant Editor and finally the
ISTJ Editor-in-Chief.
4.The article to be sent to
ISTJ must not have been published anywhere before or be published in another journal.
5.The correspondence of the article sent to
ISTJ takes place with the corresponding author unless otherwise stated.
6.Each submitted article is reviewed once within
7 days at the latest for its compliance with the
ISTJ Article Writing Template. If there are any deficiencies or errors, the responsible author is asked to correct these deficiencies or errors within
7 days at most. If the necessary corrections are not made within the given time, an additional period of
5 days is given to the responsible author for once. If the necessary procedures are not completed during this additional period, the article is returned to the author and any article of the author will not be processed again during the same publication period.
7.Article submission is made online via
https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/login, which can be accessed from
https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/istj. All attachments related to the article must be uploaded to the system and sent.
8.For the articles requiring the
ethics committee approval, an application must be made to any university institute with the necessary documents. The ethics committee approval must be documented by uploading it to the journal's system together with the article. Ethics committee approval must be stated on the specified page of the article with
the committee name, date, and issue number (see page 10).If the ethics committee approval is not required for the article, the reason for this must be clearly stated in this section. In addition, the author must sign
the ISTJ Declaration of No Need for Ethics Committee Approval Form, which confirms that the article does not require the ethics committee approval.

The ISTJ Ethical Statement Form: This form must be filled out and uploaded to the system. Authors' ethical statements must also be included on the relevant page of the article
(see page 9).11.
The ISTJ Conflict of Interest Statement Form: This form must be filled out and uploaded to the system. Authors' conflict of interest statements must also be included on the relevant page of the article
(see page 10).12.
The ISTJ Author Contribution Statement Form: This form must be filled out and uploaded to the system. Authors' contribution statements to the article must be included on the relevant page of the article
(see page 10-11).13.
Statement of Support and Acknowledgment, if any, must also be included in the article
(see page 11). 14.Due to the double-blind referee model in which authors and referees do not know each other's identities, authors' identification information must not be included in the texts submitted during peer-review process of the article.
15.The article must have a title, which must accurately state the subject in Turkish and English.
16.Turkish and English abstracts (keywords added) must be written. They must consist of
at least 200 and at most 300 words and must reflect the research in the shortest possible way (purpose of the article, method, main findings and recommendations). There must be
4 or 5 Turkish/English keywords representing the content of the study under the Turkish and English abstracts.
17.A research article is expected to contain the following elements: Turkish title, abstract and keywords; English title, abstract and keywords; main text sections (introduction, method, findings, discussion, conclusion and recommendations), references, tables, figures, pictures.
18.
The ISTJ Copyright Agreement Form containing the author information must be sent with the article submitted for the publication.
19.Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references given in the article. All the sources must be cited fully, accurately and completely in the text. The references must be added to the end of the article and must comply with APA 7, one of the international reference writing formats. The references must be prepared in alphabetical order based on the surnames of the authors.
20.The volume of the article must be at most 8000 words, excluding the references.
21.Articles with a maximum of 5 authors can be pre-examined.
