1965 Sivas doğumlu olan Turan Gökçe 1985 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Tarih Lisans programından mezun oldu. Aynı üniversitede Yeniçağ Tarihi alanında 1987’de Yüksek Lisans, 1994’de de Doktora programını tamamladı. 1995 yılında Ege Üniversitesi Türk Dünyası Araştırmaları Enstitüsü’nde Yardımcı Doçent kadrosuna atanan Gökçe, 2002’de Doçent unvanını aldı. 2009 yılında aynı enstitüde Profesör kadrosuna atandı. 2013 yılında İzmir Kâtip Çelebi Üniversitesi Sosyal ve Beşeri Bilimler Fakültesi kurucu dekanlığına getirilen Gökçe 2015 yılında aynı fakültenin Tarih Bölümü Yeniçağ Tarihi Anabilim Dalı’nda Profesör kadrosuna atandı.
Ege Üniversitesi’nde görev yaptığı zaman zarfında akademik çalışmalar yanında Türk Dünyası Araştırmaları Enstitüsü Yönetim Kurulu üyeliği ve Türk Tarihi Anabilim Dalı Başkanlığı görevlerini de ifa eden Gökçe, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi Üniversitesi’nde Sosyal ve Beşeri Bilimler Fakültesi Kurucu Dekanlığı ile birlikte Rektör Yardımcılığı görevlerini üstlendi. Rektör Yardımcılığı sırasında Eğitim Komisyonu Başkanlığı, Bologna Koordinatörlüğü, ÖYP Koordinatörlüğü, Dış İlişkiler Koordinatörlüğü gibi görevleri de yürütmüş olan Gökçe, aynı zamanda İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler, İslami İlimler ve Hukuk fakültelerinin Yönetim Kurullarında üye olarak yer aldı. Ayrıca Türkçe Öğretim Merkezi (TÖMER) ve Ege ve Balkan Çalışmaları (EBAMER) Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi kurucusu olan Gökçe, EBAMER müdürlüğü görevini üniversiteden ayrılıncaya kadar sürdürdü.
07.05.2024 tarihinde Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf Üniversitesi İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Fakültesi Tarih Bölümü’nde Profesör kadrosuna atanmış olan Gökçe, halen Lisansüstü Eğitim Enstitüsü Müdürlüğü ve Fuat Sezgin İslam Bilim Tarihi Enstitüsü Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliği görevlerini yürütmektedir.
Doktora ve Doçentlik unvanını Yeniçağ Tarihi alanında almış olan Gökçe araştırmalarını Osmanlı Sosyal ve Ekonomik Tarihi, Şehir Tarihi, Osmanlı Nüfus ve İskân Tarihi, Osmanlı Dönemi Balkan Tarihi ve Tarihi Onomastik alanlarında sürdürmektedir.
İngilizce bilen Prof. Dr. Turan Gökçe evli ve bir çocuk babasıdır.
Musa Kadıoğlu was born in 1971 in Bafra. In 1989 he started his undergraduate studies in the Department of Classical Archaeology of the Faculty of Letters at the Ankara University from where he graduated in 1994. He gained his master's degree from the same department in 1997. In 2002 he completed his Ph.D. entitled “The Scaenae frons of the theatre of Nysa on the Maeander” under the supervision Prof. Dr. V. M. Strocka at the Institute of Archaeology of the Albert-Ludwig University at Freiburg with scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the State of Baden-Württenberg (Landesgraduiertenförderung). His thesis was elected for the Günter Wöhrle Achievement Award in 2002 by a state foundation called “Humanismus Heute”. The book derived from the thesis (published in 2006 as Die Scaenae Frons des Theaters von Nysa am Mäander, Forschungen in Nysa am Mäander I) received the 2007 Encouragement Award of Turkey Academy of Sciences (TUBA). In 1995 he started his academic career as a research assistant at the department of Classical Archaeology at the Faculty of Letters of the Ankara Universityand since 2006 he is working as an Associate Professor at the same department. Since 1990 he has been a member of the excavation teams of Stratonikeia, Magnesia on the Maeander and Nysa on the Maeander. Since 2010 he directs the research and restoration works in the ancient city of Teos in Ionia (Seferihisar/Izmir).

A. Güliz Bilgin Altınöz is an associate professor in architecture at the Middle East Technical University Department of Architecture. She is the Chair of the Graduate Program in Conservation of Cultural Heritage, the Head of the METU Centre of Research and Assessment of Historical Environments [TAÇDAM] and the Director of METU Archaeology Museum. She is the co-editor of the Turkish Academy of Sciences Journal of Cultural Inventory [TÜBA-KED], and she is a member of the Executive Board of the ICOMOS-Turkey National Committee.
Her main academic and professional interest areas are theory and criticism in heritage studies; conservation, management, and planning of urban, rural, and archaeological sites; multi-layered towns and urban archaeology; heritage recording and information management; decision support systems and GIS in heritage conservation. She conducted and took part in various national and international projects, and published articles and book chapters on these subjects.
