Question 1. I want to submit an article for the March or September issue of your journal, is the issue full?
Answer: Our journal does not accept articles specific to any issue. No issue, referee evaluation, duration or publication guarantee is given for the studies sent to our journal for evaluation. Publication processes depend only on the completion of the referee evaluation process, the approval of the relevant board/commission, the approval of the editor and the publication schedule of the appropriate issue. Since there is a certain article quota in each issue, even studies that have successfully completed all evaluation processes must wait for the publication dates of the appropriate issues to be published. In this process, studies are first listed according to the referee evaluation completion date, then the submission date and are published in appropriate issues.
Question 2. I noticed an error 5 days after my article was published. Can a correction be made?
Answer: Articles to be published are sent to the author for final checks and proofreading before publication after all correction processes are completed. It is of great importance to meticulously conduct the necessary reviews at these stages in order to prevent errors. Published issues are closed to corrections via the system within 5 days of the publication date, and it is not possible to make changes after this period. In addition, since published issues are scanned by being sent to the relevant indexes, the version in the indexes will remain incorrect even if a possible correction is made. However, if a critical error is detected after publication, this situation can be reported to the editorship. In such cases, an erratum (correction text) can be published in the following issue. Nevertheless, in order to prevent such problems, it is strongly recommended that all checks and reviews before publication be carried out with utmost care.
Question 3. After I submit my article, the processing deadline has passed or is constantly being updated. What does this mean?
Answer: A study submitted to the journal goes through steps such as pre-evaluation, referee invitation process, referee evaluation, author corrections (if any), decision stage and publication process. Each stage of these processes is assigned a projected completion date by the system. However, this date may change depending on the dynamic nature of the processing process. For example, even if referee assignments are completed, the referees may not respond within the expected time. In this case, the deadline may be extended and the processing deadline may be updated or new referees may be assigned. Such situations are a natural part of the processes and updating the processing deadline is a normal practice. There is no need to warn or remind the editorial office due to date changes; all these processes are managed by the editorial office. In addition, if the process is not completed by the projected completion date, the date is updated again with the first editorial intervention. This does not mean that your article has been removed from the evaluation process. The process continues depending on the flexibility of the system and editorial control.
Question 4. It has been a long time since I submitted my article. Could it have been forgotten or lost? Is there a problem?
Answer: No work uploaded in accordance with the rules through the system will be lost or forgotten. There is no such possibility. The prolongation of the processes is usually due to the referees not being able to complete the evaluation processes on time. If a referee does not respond within the specified time, he/she is reminded and a new referee is assigned if necessary. This is a part of the natural functioning of the process and the evaluation process of your article continues uninterrupted.
Question 5. I want to submit an article to your journal, but I do not have an ethics committee report. Can I still submit it?
Answer: In accordance with our journal's publication policy, a copy of the ethics committee report is required for all studies requiring ethics committee approval. It is not possible for the relevant studies to be included in the evaluation process without this document. Detailed explanations on the subject are provided on the "Ethical Principles and Publication Policy" page of our journal's website.
Question 6. The work I submitted was rejected during the preliminary evaluation phase, and this phase took longer than I expected. What could be the reason for this?
Answer: During the preliminary evaluation process, studies that do not fully comply with the spelling rules, are not completely placed in the template, are not suitable for the scope of the journal, are deemed difficult to find referees, or are not deemed appropriate by the editorial board on scientific grounds (e.g. in terms of subject, method or content) do not pass this stage and are rejected without being sent for referee evaluation. The length of the preliminary evaluation period may be due to the detailed check of the submitted work in terms of its conformity in terms of scope and format. During this process, the duration may vary, as the compliance of the work with the journal standards in every respect must be carefully examined.
Question 7. The referees have decided that my work must be accepted. Can you send me the DOI number immediately?
Answer: The issue in which an article will be published is finalized after all evaluation processes of the article are completed, the article is listed according to the submission date, and the official approval of the editorial board. The DOI number is obtained after these stages. Even if the referees have made an acceptance decision, the publication of the article depends on the approval of the editor and the editorial board. Therefore, it is not possible to obtain a DOI number immediately after the referee's decision. The DOI number will be assigned to the article once the publication process is completed.
Question 8. How will I be informed about the processes after I upload my work to the system? Do I need to receive information via e-mail or follow the process in other ways?
Answer: After a work uploaded to the system is taken into process, the relevant persons (author, referee, editor, proofreader, etc.) are informed by the Dergipark system at each stage. These notifications are automatically sent to the membership e-mail address used by the author when uploading the article. These e-mails will be sufficient to follow the process. Therefore, there is no need to request information by sending an e-mail or follow the process in other ways. All important updates are shared regularly through the system.
Question 9. Can I convert my work, which has been published as a full text in a conference proceedings book, into an article and send it to your journal?
Answer: Studies that have been previously presented at a scientific meeting, published as an abstract or extended summary, or produced from a thesis must be clearly stated both during upload to the system and on the cover page of the article. The journal does not assume any responsibility for any incomplete provision of this information. However, it is not appropriate to convert studies that have been previously published as a full text paper into an article and send it to our journal. Such studies are rejected due to a high similarity rate in the plagiarism report, even if they successfully complete the refereeing process. Therefore, such a study cannot be evaluated for publication in our journal.
Question 10. Can I add a different author to a study produced from a thesis, other than the thesis advisor, second advisor or thesis author? Or can I remove my advisor or student from authorship?
Answer: According to our journal's ethical policy, it is not considered appropriate to add third parties as authors in studies produced from thesis or to remove the names of the thesis advisor or student and try to publish the study as a single author. If an advisor has requested that his/her name not be included in the article produced from his/her student's thesis study, this situation must be notified to our journal with an official request letter. Studies prepared in violation of these rules will be rejected when detected during the preliminary evaluation process. If this situation is noticed during the process, the study will be rejected at any stage.
Question 11. Can I suggest referees for the work I have sent or will send to your journal?
Answer: Our journal uses a double-blind referee system. Therefore, referee suggestions from authors are not accepted. Referee appointments are made completely independently by the journal editor.
Question 12. The study I prepared by looking at the articles in previous issues did not pass the preliminary evaluation stage. What could be the reason for this?
Answer: The journal's writing rules, template, editorial board decisions or the criteria of the indexes scanned may have changed or been updated over time. Therefore, it is important to take into account the current writing rules and article template when preparing your study. Please review the writing rules and templates on the journal website and reorganize your study accordingly. This will prevent possible problems during the evaluation process.
Question 13. Do I need to upload a plagiarism report for the work I submit to your journal?
Answer: Authors must write completely original work texts and if they use the work and/or words of others, they must cite them accordingly. By submitting a work to the journal, authors guarantee that their work is original and complies with ethical standards, that the sources used are fully cited and that it does not bear any resemblance to other articles that have been published or are in the publication phase. In this context, authors must run their work through a plagiarism detection software (ithenticate, turnitin, etc.) and upload the plagiarism report to the journal system.
Question 14. I want to change the author order in my article. Is this possible?
Answer: Requests for changes in the author order must be submitted to the editorship with the written approval of all authors. It is not possible to change the author order without this approval. In addition, author changes made after the evaluation process has started will be carefully examined within the framework of ethical rules.
Question 15. I would like to retract my article. Is this possible?
Answer: The request for retraction of your article will be evaluated depending on the stage of the process. Retraction requests are generally accepted before the peer review process has started. If the peer review process has started, the reason for your retraction request will be reviewed in detail by the editorial office.
Question 16. Can I see the referee reports?
Answer: Our journal uses a double-blind referee system. After the evaluation process is complete, referee reports are shared anonymously so that authors can make improvements. The names of the referees are kept confidential.
Question 17. How can I track the citation information of my published article?
Answer: You can track the citation information of your article through the databases that our journal is indexed in. You can also regularly check your citation status using academic search engines such as Google Scholar.
Question 18. Can I learn the detailed reason why my article was rejected?
Answer: Feedback on rejected studies is shared with authors through referee reports and editorial notes. This feedback will guide the development of your work. However, the rejection decision is final and no re-evaluation is made.
Question 19. Can I resubmit my rejected work?
Answer: It is possible to resubmit rejected works after extensive revisions based on the referee reports. However, resubmitted works will be evaluated as a new application and will be subject to a new referee process, independent of the previous process.
Question 20. I received an invitation to be a referee from your journal. Would it be sufficient to prepare the evaluation report and send it by e-mail? Can I not fill out the evaluation form?
Answer: If the evaluation form is not filled out, the refereeing process will not be seen as completed on the system and the referee decision will not be finalized. Therefore, we kindly request our valuable referees to send their evaluation reports by filling out the relevant form completely through the Dergipark system. Filling out the form is mandatory for the official completion of the refereeing process.
Question 21. I want to change the title of my article. Is this possible?
Answer: Requests for changes to the title of the article can be made before the referee evaluation process begins or in accordance with the referee reports. However, requests for title changes must be forwarded to the editorship along with the reason for the change and editorial approval must be obtained.
Question 22. I would like to have my article published as open access later. Is this possible?
Answer: Our journal supports open access policy. All articles are made available free of charge after publication. Therefore, you do not need to take any additional action for your open access request.
Question 23. I do not find the referee evaluation reports detailed. Can I make a request on this issue?
Answer: Referee evaluation reports are at the discretion of the referees, and our journal works with a double-blind referee system. Referee reports are prepared as part of the process and shared with the authors by the editorial office. If there are points you think are missing in the report, you can convey this to the editorial office. However, it is not possible to intervene in the scope and detail of the referee reports.
Question 24. I was a referee for an article. Where can I see this?
Answer: In our journal, a list of referees for articles accepted or rejected during the publication date of the relevant issue is published in each issue. This list is at the end of the issue. If your referee name is not on this list or has not been published for any reason, you can request a document proving that you were a referee. Referee documents are sent to the requesting referee via e-mail after your refereeing is confirmed through the Dergipark system. This process ensures that your refereeing contributions are officially documented.
Question 25. I received an invitation to be a referee, but when I click on the link, I get an error and I can't see the study. What must I do?
Answer: This error usually occurs due to the following two situations:
- The referee invitation may have been sent to an e-mail address different from the e-mail address you are registered with in the Dergipark system.
- You may have been logged in with another account in Dergipark when you clicked on the link.
To solve this problem, you must first log out of Dergipark and log back into the system with the account belonging to the e-mail address to which the invitation was sent. If you do not have an account in Dergipark with the e-mail address to which the invitation was sent, you can request the editorial office to reassign the referee to your current account. In this way, your problem will be solved and you will be able to access the referee invitation.
