Since its inception as the International Uluslararası Bilimsel Araştırmalar Dergisi (IBAD) / International Journal of Scientific Researches (IBAD) (e-ISSN 2536-4642) in 2016, our journal has provided a rigorous and dynamic platform for publishing research across all fields of the humanities and social sciences. To build upon this strong foundation, to clearly communicate our philosophy and vision to our academic community, and to better reflect the journal’s scope and focus, we decided in 2019 to rename it as the IBAD Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi / IBAD Journal of Social Sciences (e-ISSN 2687-2811). Although the journal has always been open to international readers and authors, it primarily features studies relevant to Türkiye and Turks, giving it a predominantly national character. Therefore, while it was initially published as the Uluslararası Bilimsel Araştırmalar Dergisi (IBAD) / International Journal of Scientific Researches (IBAD) (e-ISSN 2536-4642), since 2019, it has continued under the name IBAD Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi / IBAD Journal of Social Sciences (e-ISSN 2687-2811). Between 2016 and 2019, the Uluslararası Bilimsel Araştırmalar Dergisi (IBAD) / International Journal of Scientific Researches (IBAD) (e-ISSN 2536-4642) published a total of eight issues, with two issues per year. After being renamed in 2019, the IBAD Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi / IBAD Journal of Social Sciences (e-ISSN 2687-2811) published two special issues—one in October 2019 and another in 2020 dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Turkish War of Independence. In 2020 and 2021, the journal was published three times a year, but since 2022, it has continued with two issues per year.

This change does not reflect any alteration or dilution of the journal's values or editorial standards; rather, it is made in the spirit of reaffirming our core mission: to facilitate the publication of research that enriches the body of knowledge across all disciplines in the social sciences and humanities related to Turkey and the Turkish people.

Both journals have distinct ISSNs. However, editorially, the IBAD Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi / IBAD Journal of Social Sciences (e-ISSN 2687-2811) is recognized as a continuation of the Uluslararası Bilimsel Araştırmalar Dergisi (IBAD) / International Journal of Scientific Researches (IBAD) (e-ISSN 2536-4642) (e-ISSN 2536-4642). The renamed journal follows the same policies and processes.

All articles published under the Uluslararası Bilimsel Araştırmalar Dergisi (IBAD) / International Journal of Scientific Researches (IBAD) (e-ISSN 2536-4642) remain accessible and searchable on the journal’s website. Ensuring this continuity is a priority for us.

For citation purposes, both journals use the abbreviation IBAD. Articles published under the Uluslararası Bilimsel Araştırmalar Dergisi (IBAD) / International Journal of Scientific Researches (IBAD) (e-ISSN 2536-4642) will continue to use the citation assigned in the original publication. Additionally, these articles will remain available on the website of the renamed journal.
